Perspectives experiment [targeting teachers] 《Collected items》
Perspectives experiment conducted by the Meta-Museum Project is an experiment designed to collect, convert, and exchange diverse perspectives existing both in and outside the museum to see whether the Nam June Paik Art Center can serve as a space for gathering and sharing different perspectives.

“Collection of items” is a program for a hands-on experience of art with the help of Kim Jun, a media artist. In the program, participants engage in the work of making “my own collection box” used to collect diverse “sounds” and “objects” that they encounter in their daily lives. Sounds and objects they have paid little attention to are created as a work with new significance through their own perspective. They are encouraged to portray their daily life scenes, collecting sounds they encounter in their daily lives, using a media device, and recollecting their memory associated with objects. They communicate with each other, using intangible sounds, find new meaning of objects, and think about other ways of learning based on their daily experiences. This is a session carried out through discussions and creative activities, and teachers will provide participants with the opportunity to look back at themselves, record what is occurring near them, and portray them. Results of the workshop will be displayed through an exhibition. Active participation is encouraged for those who are interested.

#The event planner’s note
The “collected materials” workshop focusing on sounds is a workshop in which participants are encouraged to archive place-specific sounds and “collected objects” that they encounter in their daily lives and portray them using their artistic senses. Participants have the opportunity to appreciate contemporary artworks associated with sounds and collection including those of John Cage and Nam June Paik and learn the approaches to artworks and how to use media. They are also encouraged to observe small changes in their daily lives carefully, list the diverse objects collected through their senses, and archive them as works of art. This is a workshop designed to help people sense what they do not see usually in their daily lives and portray intangible objects from their perspectives through the sounds, designed to rediscover microscopic things around us in a sensational way through artistic acts.
