Celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the naming of the Gyeonggi Province, Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation (President Seol Won-ki) and Gyeonggi Children’s Museum (Director Yang Won-mo) are presenting this talk concert for parents‘ education 《To Show the Way to Parents》 this coming July and August.

Sponsored by Hanssem, the talk concert will be held on July 15 (Sun), July 22 (Sun), and August 26 (Sun). A total of five lectures will be given over topics that parents are commonly concerned about: the history of child-rearing, sex education, use of the smartphone, parent mentoring, and various types of families. The lectures will provide satisfying solutions to the problems that parents face as they raise their children.

■ Lecture 1 《From the Old Days of Child-Rearing to Today’s Parent Education》– July 15 (Sun.) 2 pm
The talk concert 《To Show the Way to Parents》 begins on July 15, with the first lecture 《From the Old Days of Child-Rearing to Today’s Parent Education》 by Park Jae-hui, President of National Culture Contents Agency. Park presents us with the history of child-rearing and parent education by illuminating examples from the 1000-year history of Gyeonggi Province and showing the direction of child education adjusted to the change of society.

■ Lecture 2 《There is a Right Time for Sex Education.》 – July 15 (Sun.) 4 pm
Next, Son Gyeong-yi, Director of Relationship Education Institute, speaks about sex education that parents should be aware of. The lecture will cover a variety of matters, ranging from child sexual abuse prevention & coping plan, to the right perspective to view men and women, which is a hot issue these days, easing the worries of frustrated parents when it comes to sex education for their children.

■ Lecture 3 《To Bear Tantrum or To Feel Regret》 – July 22 (Sun.) 11 am
On July 22, 《To Bear Tantrum or To Feel Regret》 will deal with whether to buy your children a smartphone or not, a headache-inducing problem that every parent will probably go through at least once. Gwon Jang-hui, Director of Norimedia Educenter, will lecture on how to treat children who beg you to buy a smartphone, along with the etiquette of using a smartphone that should be taught to your children.

■ Lecture 4 《The Lesser You Want, the Better Your Children Grow》 – July 22 (Sun.) 2 pm
The next lecture is 《The Lesser You Want, the Better Your Children Grow》 by Lee Yu-nam (President of Seoul Myungshin Elementary School), author of the book 《Mom’s Letter of Apology》. She will talk about ‘what influence the self-esteem of the parents has on their children’ and ‘how to wisely communicate with your children,’ leading you to become happy parents with happy children.

■ Lecture 5 《Various Forms of Families》 & 2018 Happiness Camp 《A Summer Night at the Rackety Museum》– August 26 (Sun.) 11 am
On August 26, Hwang Eun-suk, President of Hanbumo Love Society (Corp), introduces the various types of families that compose our society in the lecture 《Various Forms of Families》. She will also inform about the ways to live together with families of different backgrounds and characteristics, and how to encourage them.

■ Special Event
Before the lecture, there will be a special event at 2 p.m. on July 15. Seol Won-ki (President of Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation), Yang Won-mo (Director of Gyeonggi Children’s Museum), and the CEO of Hanssem will deliver words of encouragement. At the event, Hanssem will also receive a plaque of appreciation for its continued sponsorship of the parents’ education program ‘Happiness Lecture’ held by Gyeonggi Children’s Museum for six years, since 2013.
