“Art and culture education in daily life” is what the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation’s Gyeonggi Arts & Culture Education Support Center(Gyeonggi Center) supports.
Gyeonggi Center is one of the arts and culture education support centers that were established in 17 metropolitan councils throughout the nation by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to stimulate education in art and culture.
The center supports the operation of the Kkumdarak Saturday Culture School, a program for elementary, middle, and high school students and their families, and manages consignment programs including the local art and culture education program, which is designed to share and communicate the rich art and cultural resources with the local residents.
Also, the Gyeonggi Center plans, discovers, and supports various projects for training and recruiting mediators for art and culture education, offering support for group study, strengthening educator competencies, etc. It also publishes Jijibombom, a webzine for reviewing art and culture education, runs an archive project, is building a cooperation network with 15 local basic cultural foundations to visualize the goals, and carries out research for the development of art and culture education in Gyeonggi Province.
