This is an opportunity for communication and understanding of the local community through locality research linked to residential artists of the Gyeonggi Creation Center and cultural arts within Gyeonggi-do. At the same time, it supports contemporary artists’ creative activities while providing discussion opportunities of the roles and identities that residential artists must aim for.
《Replay: with Paik’s Steps》, the creative youth workshop is a program where participants follow the artistic philosophy and attitude of Nam June Paik “with Paik’s Steps.” The media artist group Moojin Brothers led this workshop in which videos were produced with the theme of history, or broader, memory and records.
2018 Gyeonggi Creation Center Artist Residency Program for Young Artists 《Creative Active Imagination》
It is a creative art camp that combines the workshop, creation process, and exhibition for youth who are interested in two dimensional art (painting, drawing), installation, performance, or media/video. Show your active imagination dreaming of the future by becoming a young artist spending four days and three nights at GCC, the island for the artists!
The 《Irony & Idealism》 Korea-Germany Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition (2017.9.28–12.03) that began at the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art in September 2017 and passed through the Seoul KF Gallery (2017. 12.14–2018. 1.13) will be open at the local museum Kunsthalle Münster in the NRW state of Germany in 2018.
A Conference Commemorating the 1100th Anniversary of Establishment of Goryeo and the 1000th Anniversary of the Naming of Gyeonggi
The Gyeonggi Institute of Cultural Properties will host a conference on the subject of ‘Topological changes of Gyeonggi during the Goryeo Dynasty and archaeology of the Middle Ages’ in cooperation with the Korea Middle Ages Archaeological Society in celebration of the 1100th Anniversary of Establishment of Goryeo and the 1000th Anniversary of the Naming of Gyeonggi.
M3 is a conversion and complex culture platform at Gyeonggi Sangsang Campus which is an experimental space and laboratory for creators and citizens. Through pilot projects in 2018, a variety of researches and experiments will be conducted such as M3_Curatorial Project, M3_Collaboration Project, M3_Open Platform, and M3_Network (linked to the Youth Festival).
