#Meta-Museum # Project : #The Meta-Museum #Project: #Shared Space Experiment #workshop
“For whom do fine arts galleries exist?” “What can we do in such a space?” The Shared Space Experiment of the Meta-Museum Project is an experiment to find out whether the physical space of Nam June Paik Art Center can serve as a shared space. The center intends to open the processes for production and use of shared spaces to the public.
As part of this attempt, the center is to build pavilions, which are reciprocal frame-style shared spaces, with people at the workshop. In reciprocal frames, modules support each other without columns. With the participation of many people, the center plans to create shared spaces where people use the fine arts gallery just like reciprocal frames are comprised of small parts. Shared spaces will be built outside the center, with the citizens actively imagining and proposing their shapes, using professionally designed modules. Here anyone will be able to gain knowledge of the technology of reciprocal frames, share relevant technique with others as knowledge and life in shared spaces, and move beyond using shared spaces to gain hands-on experience as producers of shared spaces. We encourage your active participation in taking part in the design and production of shared spaces.
