Poop! Poop! An old tale told by a grandmother: Kongjwi and Patjwi, by Surabul Company
A work of a fun art travel selected by 2018 Art Council Korea
An action learning performance that combines a folk tale with a puppet show+game

A fresh interpretation of a folk tale into a marionette show and a participatory game. This is a work that combines a well-known folk tale, Kongjwi and Patjwi, and Poop Poop Grandma, the main character of this play who is based on the Jeju myths of Mago Halmang and Seolmundae Halmang.

An exciting collaboration between a myth from the land of Jeju, an island of legends, and a traditional folk tale, Kongjwi and Patjwi!! We welcome you to a world filled with fun stories told by the extraordinary Poop Poop Grandma.

《Plot》
“Hi everyone! Would you like me, Poop Poop Grandma, to tell you an old story?”
Once upon a time, a long, long time ago when tigers smoked and neither the sun nor the moon existed in the sky, there lived Poop Poop Grandma who blasted fart bombs and slept all day long. Her farts were so loud that the sky and the earth cracked at their sound, the sun and the moon respectively quickly hid behind night and day, and the stars hurriedly ran up to the heavens. This made the Great Jade Emperor very upset and, consequently, he captured Poop Poop Grandma and imprisoned her in Hallasan Mountain in Jeju Island! “Rumble, rumble… gurgle, gurgle… poop, poop.” Being forced to contain so much gas inside her body as she could not fart, Poop Poop Grandma eventually visited the Great Jade Emperor after much pondering…!!
